Trimble part numbers follow patterns that tell you what the cable does:
- ZTN-prefixed numbers (ZTN54602, ZTN62700, ZTN83956) — these are harness assemblies, often adapter or extension cables. The ZTN prefix indicates a Trimble Agriculture part.
- 5-digit numbers (100906, 53662, 56328, 67034, 78886) — individual cables, sensors, or mounting kits. These are the most common on eBay and used parts sites.
- 7xxxx-xx-ENG (71504-00-ENG) — technical documents, not parts. These are cabling guide part numbers.

Trimble publishes official cabling guides for each display system. These are the primary reference for anyone wiring a Trimble system. Each guide contains connector pinout diagrams, cable routing, and system configuration:

Part Number Patterns
Raven Industries uses a different numbering system:
- 016-0171-xxx — Raven document/manual numbers. For example, 016-0171-637 is the RCM Operation Manual, 016-0171-219 is the Switch Pro manual.
- 115-0171-xxx — cable part numbers. For example, 115-0171-055 is a 12-foot flow cable for the SCS440.
- 107-xxxx-xxx — older harness numbers for legacy controllers (440, 450, 460).

Search for "Raven 440" or "Raven 460 pinout" — farmers have shared 37-pin connector pinouts, flowmeter wiring, and harness identification help. The Raven 440/450/460 all use the same 37-pin main connector, so pinouts are shared across these controllers.
Raven Controller Families
The most common Raven controllers and their connectors:
- SCS 440 / 450 / 460 — legacy spray controllers. Use a 37-pin main connector (the pinout is shared in the AgTalk thread above). The 440 is the simplest — basic rate control. The 450 adds boom section control. The 460 adds GPS speed and area.
- SCS 660 / 670 — mid-range controllers with more boom channels and GPS integration.
- CR7 / Envizio Pro / Viper 4 — newer display-based systems. These use Raven's Slingshot wiring harnesses and CAN bus connectors.
- RCM (Rate Control Module) — the modern replacement for the 440/460. Interfaces with ISO bus displays. Manual linked above.
Ag Leader Cables & Connectors
Part Number Patterns
Ag Leader uses a 4xxxxx numbering system:
- 4000xxx — cables and harnesses. For example, 4000219 is a CAN Bus stub cable, 4000726-12 is a 12-foot implement cable.
- 200xxxx — installation instruction documents.

Ag Leader Connector Types
Ag Leader uses two main connector families:
- ITT Cannon — the round, threaded connector used on Ag Leader displays (InCommand, Integra, Versa). These are the same connectors used on some Trimble displays, which is why some cross-brand cables work.
- Deutsch — the rectangular connector used on Ag Leader CAN bus modules and implement harnesses. Deutsch connectors are the industry standard for agricultural wiring — they're weatherproof, keyed (can't plug in wrong), and use crimp pins.
Ag Leader CAN Bus Cable Part Numbers
Common Ag Leader CAN Bus cable part numbers:
- 4000219 — CAN Bus Stub Cable, standard 12-inch, ITT Cannon to Deutsch
- 4001531 — CAN Bus Stub Cable, planter monitoring version

Cross-Brand Compatibility
Many farmers run mixed systems — a Trimble display with a Raven sprayer controller, or an Ag Leader monitor with Trimble GPS. Here's what actually crosses over:
What Works Together
- Trimble displays + Raven sprayer controllers — the Trimble FmX and FM-1000 can read Raven flow and pressure data via serial cable. You need a Trimble-to-Raven adapter cable (serial DB9 on the Trimble side, 37-pin on the Raven side).
- Ag Leader displays + Trimble GPS — Ag Leader displays can accept NMEA GPS data from a Trimble AgGPS 252/262 receiver. Connection is via serial cable (DB9 on the Ag Leader side, depends on the receiver on the Trimble side).
- Trimble steer angle sensors on John Deere AutoTrac — our Trimble 67034 and 78886 Phantom sensors are listed as compatible with John Deere AutoTrac systems. The connector is the same; the calibration may differ.
- ISOBUS displays and implements — any ISOBUS-compliant display (Trimble GFX-750, Ag Leader InCommand, John Deere 4640) can run any ISOBUS-compliant implement. The ISOBUS standard means the connectors and protocol are the same. You still need the correct implement cable from the display to the implement's ISOBUS connector.
What Does NOT Work Together
- Raven 440/450/460 controllers with ISOBUS displays — the 4xx series predates ISOBUS. You need the Raven RCM or a serial-to-ISOBUS adapter.
- Trimble Autopilot harnesses across NAV generations — NAV-I, NAV-II, and NAV-III use different connectors. A NAV-II harness won't plug into a NAV-III controller. Check the Trimble cabling guide PDFs above for your specific NAV generation.
- Ag Leader CAN A vs CAN B cables — Ag Leader uses two CAN bus channels (A and B). The cables look identical but the pin assignments differ. Plugging a CAN A cable into a CAN B port won't damage anything, but the implement won't communicate. The CrushinAG listing above shows which part numbers are CAN A.
Connector Types Explained
If you can identify the connector, you can narrow down what cable you need:
Deutsch DTM / DT / DTP
The most common connector in ag wiring. Rectangular, keyed, weatherproof — you push to seat and the latch snaps over the mating half. Made by TE Connectivity. All three sizes use the same design, just scaled:
- DTM — small, 2-12 pins, size 20 contacts (7.5 amp). Used on sensors and small cables. The AgGPS 252 Port A uses a 12-pin DTM. See DTM 12-way connector photos. We sell the DTM04-12P 12-pin male connector ($14).
- DT — medium, 2-12 pins, size 16 contacts (13 amp). Used on most implement harnesses. See DT 12-way connector photos.

ITT Cannon
Round, threaded, bayonet-lock connector. Used on Ag Leader displays and some Trimble displays. You twist to lock — no push-to-seat like Deutsch.
DB9 (D-Sub 9-pin)
The same connector as old computer serial ports. Used for RS-232 communication between displays and GPS receivers, radar units, and older controllers. Still common on Raven and Trimble serial connections.
M12 / ISOBUS 9-Pin
Round, threaded, industrial connector. Used on newer ISOBUS systems and some modern sensors. Smaller than ITT Cannon, more robust than DB9. 37-pin D-Sub
Large rectangular connector used on Raven 440/450/460 controllers. This is the main console connector — power, sensor inputs, boom outputs, and flowmeter all go through this one connector. How to Identify a Mystery Cable
If you've got a cable and don't know what it's for:
- Count the pins and identify the connector type — Deutsch (rectangular, keyed), ITT Cannon (round, threaded), DB9 (trapezoidal, 9 pins), 37-pin (large trapezoidal). This narrows it to a brand and era.
- Check the cable markings — most Trimble cables have the part number printed on the jacket in small text. Raven cables sometimes have a tag near the connector.
- Measure pin-to-pin continuity with a multimeter — set your meter to continuity (beep mode), put one probe on each pin of the two connectors, and map out which pins connect. This gives you the pinout.
- Post a photo on AgTalk — the Precision Talk forum has farmers who can identify almost any cable from a photo. Create an account, post a picture of both connectors, and someone will usually identify it within a day. You can also post on TractorByNet for general wiring identification help.
- Use AI photo identification — take a photo of the connector with your phone and search with Google Lens. It can often identify the connector type (Deutsch, ITT Cannon, DB9) and find matching products on eBay, Amazon, and parts sites. Can I use a Raven 440 controller with a Trimble display?
Not directly. The 440 uses a 37-pin connector with analog and digital I/O — it doesn't speak ISOBUS or NMEA in a way the Trimble display can read for rate control. You'd need the Raven RCM (Rate Control Module) which is ISOBUS-compatible, or use the 440 standalone with its own console.
Where can I find the pinout for a Raven 460 controller?

Are Ag Leader and Trimble CAN bus cables the same?
No. They use the same connector types (ITT Cannon and Deutsch) but the pin assignments differ. Ag Leader uses CAN A and CAN B channels with different pinouts. Trimble uses CAN A and CAN B but with different pin configurations. You need brand-specific CAN bus cables.
What's the difference between a Trimble NAV-II and NAV-III harness?

I found a cable with a Deutsch connector. How do I know if it's Trimble, Ag Leader, or Raven?
Deutsch connectors are used by all three brands. Count the pins, note the keying (which way it inserts), and check the wire colors against the cabling guides linked above. If the cable has a part number printed on the jacket, search for it — Trimble uses 5-digit numbers, Ag Leader uses 4xxxxx numbers, Raven uses 115-0171-xxx numbers.
Do I need a special cable for ISOBUS?
Yes. ISOBUS uses a specific 9-pin Deutsch connector with a defined pinout (ISO 11786). The cable must be ISOBUS-compliant — a regular CAN bus cable with the wrong pinout won't work. Look for cables labeled "ISOBUS" or "ISO 11786."
